Assuring social inclusion

The project provides services to individuals from our target groups (Roma women and young persons). Providing services aims at raising their potential of social inclusion on the labor market. In the development of our services we started from the vision according to which equal opportunities for social groups that confront structural inequalities and institutional discrimination cannot be secured in other way but by the simultaneous action on several factors that determine their chances. Thus we provide the following services:

Informing people from the target groups about available jobs and training courses
Psychological counseling for Roma women and young people searching employment
Mediating between persons seeking a job or training courses, and employers and providers of training programs
Accompanying services provided for children of persons who attend training or who are already employed
Placing a certain number of people at training courses and the financial support of this activity
Organizing training on TIC at the seat of “Roma Women’s Association for our Children”, Timisoara
Organizing job fairs on a yearly bases

Informing

Informing as social service is provided constantly throughout the duration of the project, and it takes place in two forms: visiting Roma families from different communities from the western region with the assistance of social workers employed in the project; office ours at the seat of the Roma Women’s Association “For our Children” (link to Services). The following information is provided to the target groups of the project: services provided at the seat of the Roma Women’s Association “For our Children” (link to Services); accessible jobs (link to Activities and results. Research, studies, analysis. Collecting information on labor market. Database on available jobs.); available training courses (link to Activities and results. Research, studies, analysis. Colelctiong data on labor market. Database on training courses.) The social workers who manage these services collaborate directly with: field operators who collect real time information on accessible job offerings and on training courses (they also keep direct contact with employers, promoting the services of the project among others) (link to Activities and results. Research, studies, analysis. Collecting data on labor market); occupational counselors (they elaborate individual plans for finding a job for persons who have already went through being informed and psychological counseling or persons looking for a job and they mediate between the latter and the potential employers, providers of training courses); psychologists employed in the project.

Psychological counseling

There are two psychologists employed by the Roma Women’s Association “For Our Children” and Parudimos Association. By the means of psychological counseling they seek to understand the abilities and preoccupations of persons searching employment and they offer – if needed – psychological certificates in this sense. Psychological counseling aims to increase self-respect and confidence of these people. Persons wishing to benefit from these services are assisted on request by the project’s social workers.

Mediation

Mediation is provided for persons who are searching employment or training courses. In principle they are persons who have been previously informed and they went through psychological counseling. Other persons who get in contact with our project may benefit from this service even thought they have not been informed by our teams. They may opt for the free service of psychological counseling. Mediation takes place between persons searching for employment or training course, and the providers. The mediation is done by the occupational counselors of the project. They collaborate with the social workers who disseminate information in the communities and at the seats of organizations from Timisoara. Mediation is based also on contacts between interviewers and employers or training course administrators respectively.

Accompanying

The accompanying activities are elaborated in such a way as to become a real support for mothers who are searching employment, or are enrolled into training programs or are already employed. The service is provided to their preschool children and pupils especially for the ones between 3-14 years old. It is a program that does not offer only a space for leisure (after school or kindergarten) but it provides educational support after the model of school after school programs. This activity is supervised by a pre-school educator and three teachers (on Romanian language, on mathematics and on IT), employed by the Roma Women’s Association “For Our Children”. Thus the program supports women as parents. In addition directly supports children in their school career. As such it contributes to raising their chances of successful integration in the labor market. Accompanying takes place at the seat of Roma Women’s Association “For Our Children” according to a public program elaborated based on community needs (link Services).

Placements

Part of the beneficiaries of the information campaigns, psychological counseling and mediation receives grants to attend training courses. In this way, grants and subsidies, the program meets the effort of individuals to prepare and search employment as skilled worker.

Training on TIC

Roma Women’s Association “For Our Children” will get within this project the accreditation in the domain of training on TIC. Thus it will be able to give certificates for persons who will successfully graduate the courses provided at the seat of the association. The course will be thought according to an already established program. Registering for the course will also take place at the seat of the association. The persons enrolled will receive grants in the period they are enrolled.

Job fairs

The organizations from Timisoara will organize yearly job mediation in the form of job fairs, in order to create a frame to assure that employers and persons seeking employment get into direct contact, being informed about job supply and demands on the labor market.
